PHP problem on polite discussions

#271825

Trying to access threads on polite discussions I'm just getting

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/includes/bbcode.php on line 494: preg_replace(): The /e modifier is no longer supported, use preg_replace_callback instead

I tried logging out and logging in again but it made no difference.

I'm using firefox 71.0. I just checked and am also getting it on other areas of the site.

Yes, I was getting that last night. The [phpBB Debug] message was being repeated, over and over, above the top of page, and the messages that were missing seemed to start just below a post (successfully rendered) that I'd made. The rest, as they say, was silence......

I tried to raise a comment on this board about it, but the Post window kept on telling me that there weren't enough words in my post, so it wasn't being accepted. (There were in fact at least 30 words. )

Isn't this the same issue that was discussed on the Site Outage Topic from here onwards?:
