Halifax Cheap Dealing Day - Thursday 23rd April 2020 (12:15PM –2:15PM)

Just a reminder for anyone with a Halifax shares account, that they are having one of their regular 'Cheap Dealing Days' this coming Thursday, April 23rd, between 12.15pm and 2.15pm -

Halifax Reduced Dealing Commission -

  • Reduced dealing commission of £3.95 per on-line trade during our offer times
  • On the day of our offer you’ll be able to trade UK shares between 12:15pm –2:15pm and international shares all day for £3.95 per on-line trade.
  • All UK purchases are subject to stamp duty at 0.5% (excluding AIM stocks). A currency conversion charge of 1.25% is applied on international trades.

A good opportunity for a bit of a spring clean for me, with a couple of tiny legacy holdings getting the boot from my non-ISA account, and another opportunity for a little more CGT-management to occur....

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

So tomorrow is the next one, I'll be doing a quick shuffle of cash from non sheltered to SIPP.

The next couple were announced a while back perhaps I've missed any recent posting so for others here's an update.

Our next commission countdown offers are on
Tuesday 14th July,
Tuesday 18th August
Wednesday 16th September.
Trade UK stocks online between 12:15pm - 2:15pm and international stocks online between 8am and 9pm to take part
(TradePlans and funds are excluded from the offer).

Thanks for these handy reminders guys.

As a regular user of that site on a monthly basis for my top ups in my HYP, the charge is just £2 plus stamp duty. I’m making use of the service this Thursday when I make a small top up of my SSE holdings.

Ian, I too use the two quid regular investment days (4 per month usually) for my buys but occasionally, as on this occasion, I sell a few holdings either by setting a limit order £12 or using the above service at £3.95. It'll be a few years until I have sheltered all my investments so I inevitable have to make some sales each year so a discount is appreciated though a limit order can capture a better price if one can wait.

Hi again kempijon. My HYP is held in my ISA, and I have no other investments outside of that. I'm known hereabouts for being to fickle for my own good sometimes, as I've dropped a number of holdings in the past, but not on the cheapo days unfortunately. More fool me (small 'f' intended). Nowadays I'm trying to be a better HYPer, and concentrate more on long term holding of my shares. I have 25 in my HYP, and I'm happy with them all, and have no intention of selling them currently. Should I do so in the future I'll certainly keep an eye out for the cheaper dealing days, but as I said, I have no current plans to sell anything.

Ian.
