Hi all,

Not sure what happened, but I just haven't been feeling it for the lemon fool, and my hattrick team has been ticking over. Supporter is up soon and I'm not getting £85 of value out of it. It's more of a habit than a joy really so...selling up* and stopping. 17 years. Not bad. But I think I'm done.

Ended up with a load of overtrained midfielders and a big wage bill and the need for a refresh. Don't have the mental energy for it. Actually, this season wasn't bad, ended up finishing 3rd in my III, and it was fun at times. But...I'm done.

Take care peeps!

My enthusiasm for Hattrick is as high as ever after about 18 years!

UncleIan, I can't afford those wages, but if you are amassing some cash and quitting, I don't suppose you could make a bid (fair market value, of course, I don't want to get kicked out for cheating) on Marcus Lashley?

I'm 16 years young on this game and just had the proverbial joy kicked out of me!
Relegation qualifier, should have been one way traffic and it pretty much was. We had 10 attempts to their 3, midfield capture 70%/69%, we were 3-5-2 playing their 4-5-1 (they had poor experience with that formation, they were usually 4-4-2). We were 1-0 for much of the game, but they equalised in 70 mins, and on 88 mins they took the lead 1-2. So we are relegated back to V.

I used 3 credits to replay the game 20 times, and the simulation said we would win 18/20 times. Well that cheered me up no end.

If it wasn't for the fact that I am paid up until 2022 (there was a special offer on) I might be quitting too, as the processional loop I seem to be on between series IV and V is so groundhog day.

I only use lemon fool for the Hattrick bants, although our numbers have been dwindling. Will hopefully feel better in the morning!

Gutted you're finishing Ian.

I gave up for a couple of years due to work pressure, but came back reinvigorated for the challenge.
It helped that the ME became more transparent, and the auto-bid feature made buying players actually possible.
In hindsight I wish I hadn't given up the team, but kept it on life support.
I agree that supporter is bloody expensive, but I still think I get value out of it.

Best wishes
Donut

@Ian Sorry you're packing it in, I could really use the Albumen as an NT training camp which doesn't require supporter to be effective? Could be a way of keeping the team ticking over while you take a mental break?

@Eastheath Similarly, NT training is a great way to break processional loops, as the focus becomes long term resource building, and the results will follow extended periods of not caring about results.

I've access to the trackers for 3 different nations and there's always a good player that comes onto the market that needs a cash rich good training set up to pick them up.

The first step is to buy an old git (like us) with mythical+ xp (divine+1 is about £500k cheaper to convert 16 weeks later to an excellent coach) with inadequate/weak leadership. Retain £1.5m for coach conversion.

Unless you've already got one in place of course?

@bink thanks for the suggestions, however planning a longer term strategy on HT wouldn't work for me right now - with hindsight I should have done something different years ago!
So I will keep it rolling 'as is' in the near term, for what its worth...which is not a lot right now as I've lot the first game 3-2. Meh...
Good luck to all in the coming season....

What's the protocol here - someone start a new thread for Season 76?
