Words of wisdom
If you know someone as honest as the day is long, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to lend them money in the wintertime.

i think you'll fight that regardless of the seasonal duration of the light in the northern hemisphere, a day is still 24 hours.
This i hasten to ad feels a lot longer when your puppy wants to go out into the garden at all hours of the night just for the fun of it.

What an AMAZING coincidence, that the Earth rotates only ever so slightly faster than once a day.

I just ask myself whether kiloran works to seven decimal places in everything he (one presumes) does? C.

Only when working in pedant mode. Normally, 5 decimal places are quite sufficient.

I seem to recall we have visited this subject before but I'd just like to warn you again that if you decrement yourself much more mister you will get stuck to something because of some force of polarity and may never be able to, to quote Freddy, break free, C.kiloran wrote:--kiloran (Mr.)

I wouldn't want the job of resetting the clocks each morning at the Royal Observatory canteen.

What is really AMAZING is to find out that the Earth can do averages.

It would be pretty mean if it wouldn't do averages. C.XFool wrote:What is really AMAZING is to find out that the Earth can do averages.

Actually, it's about once every 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4.0905 seconds, so noticeably faster.
I am not being pedantic — it's only four decimal places.
