Good beer near Kings Cross (or Waterloo) (with food)?
Can anyone help with a recommendation for somewhere that does good beer (e.g. micro brewery, brew pub) that also does food, near Kings Cross station (alternatively Waterloo) (near = preferably 10 mins walking distance). I'm travelling to London tomorrow to meet a (US) mate (he's a bit of a beer fan: quality not quantity) who's working in London this week and we're meeting around lunchtime, either at Kings Cross (where I'm arriving) or near Waterloo (where he's based). We want somewhere that we can sit for a few hours, have a decent couple of beers, and some food and a good catch-up
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Hi YorkshireLad1.
I don't know the area around Kings Cross that well. I know Waterloo and surrounds somewhat better. However, that has led me to conclude that most of the pubs are not great.
One which is decent though, if you're happy with Thai Food (I would be) is The Kings Arms on Roupell Street. It's 5-10 minutes from Waterloo Station, probably closer to 5.
Hope that helps.
Regards, Newroad

You could walk 2 minutes from Kings X to meet up at the Betjeman Arms which is a fairly convivial pub inside St Pancras station, for a few beers. Eat there if the food menu is to your taste but if you prefer something a bit fancier and pricier move on to the Booking Office, 1 minute walk as its also in St Pancras Station.

And the Doric Arch pub out front of Euston station is also a Fuller's pub, and gave discounts to CAMRA members the last time I was there.

Pride of Spitalfields. 25 mins away. Don’t know (doubt) if they do food.

Spent an evening last week catching up with old friends at the Skinners Arms, Judd Street opposite the Library just enough off the beaten track. Timothy Taylor on tap and - more importantly - no background music or football. Noticed several tables outside so may try it again in the summertime.
