Well you've snuck in a couple of months before the Speed Limiters become mandatory It all seems a bit unclear, but as we are not in the EU we can still turn them off, but only if they make different vehicles for the UK, but would have to leave them on in the EU. Then there was something about a temporary override if you put your foot to the floor, eg a misjudged overtake or the vehicle you are passing sped up (not uncommon), and whether they reset when you turn the ignition off. Or something.
I can't see Sportscar manufacturers fitting them to their cars active all the time, would somewhat dent their sales. I was going to say they should perhaps only apply where the posted limit is under 50mph (ie built up areas, where overtaking is somewhat uncommon), however what I expect is quite a few people will simply sit on their limiter now with no regards to the conditions.
And I'll bet the daft buggers still brake for speed cameras.
