Hello,
I am happy to be here with my first ever post. Unfortunately it is a tax on dividends question.
Has anyone applied for the non resident tax rebate on dividends paid by Spanish companies? I believe it decreases the tax a little. Is this correct?
Perhaps there are some members that own Santander or BA that have done this. I don't own those shares, I have some in one of the banks that I picked up very cheap and they are reintroducing the divi this year, so that got me thinking about the divi tax rebate.
Any help would be appreciated. D.L

Re: Spanish shares and Dividend tax
I think I have found out the answer to my own question.
For anyone who is interested:
Form 210 from the Spanish tax authorities potentially brings the withholding tax on dividends down from 19% to 10% for UK residents.
--If you can be bothered....or your divi is fairly large.

Interesting, often wondered about this. Sometimes its best to just let it go. My div is about £10.00 a year if that, paid into a UK account accept I'm not a UK resident.
