Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
Came upon a bit of drama at the top of a local hill on boxing day. Some poor bloke had a heart attack or similar near the summit. The Scottish Charity Air Ambulance circled and landed just before we got there, and had attached some kind of automatic CPR device, which was violently pumping his chest.
They didn't seem in a hurry to take him away, which I guess didn't bode too well for him.
There was also a Mountain Rescue helicopter circling around, and as we walked down we passed about 12 members of the MR team walking up, pushing up a stretcher with a single wheel. Also about 6 paramedics, some of who looked like climbing a (small) hill wasn't the sort of activity they expected to do on a daily basis...
Hope he recovered, but it wasn't looking too good.
(The patient and attendants are out of the frame to the right.)

Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
My phone to Flickr uploads seem to be working again.
Anyway, a dull picture from a dull Aberdeen coastline - apart from a glowing Colin of course.
As a certain Mr W Connolly once said 'Aberdeen has a beach. Dubai has a beach. They both have sand.....but there the f******* similarities abruptly end'
Note D.Trump's hated wind turbines in the background (his Mennie Golf resort is just up the road). His hatred for those devices is only equalled by my pleasure at them standing there proudly waving a metaphorical middle finger at him.

So you took a photo of the sky and the editing inserted the sand, dunes and stick?

I'd see a doctor if I were you!
Nice picture of Colin, btw, straining at the leash to explore in 2024!

We have plans - probably into the north and the west. A night under the stars in Torridon is a goal...first though, some new seat belts for the back, a new MoT and a damn warning light came on the other day and it went into limp mode (3000rpm max). It didn't feel like an injector because it's still running on 4. Forums suggest it could be the feed tube to the injector). It's still drivable though.
I have also seconded a joiner friend for a bit of work in the back. Flooring, storage, a better bed arrangement etc.
Well, it keeps me out of trouble

Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
First picture with chopper looks like Dumyat, hope he was ok.
Last time I walked up was appalled by the enormous amount of dog crap within 100 metres of the main car park.
Drive Fido up, let him out briefly, drive off.
Otherwise brilliant walk and views.

Yes it was Dumyat. I can walk it from my house, though on this occasion we drove to the car park.
I never did find out what happened to the casualty.
Scott.

About half a mile further along the bay, one chap tried to revive a derilict fishermans bothy as a tiny holiday home. There is a forestry track nearby, but Im not sure you could even drive to it in your holidaymaker seeking the authentic experience's Audi.
The one room bothy itself is now little more than a foundation outline with crumbling walls. I think it went as high as the the Scottish Government (twice) and failed to get permission, so no luck for your amusement arcades Leo .

Photo yesterday of a rather handsome Long Tailed Duck, there are good numbers overwintering along the NE Coast this winter.

But if you look at the west side of the lower promontory you will see a little fella holding on and trying to pull the islands south - to get them on the UK map.
