Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
This bear at Whipsnade Zoo looks very cuddly but probably isn't:

I'm terrified of bears, particularly polar bears.

I'd worry about power cuts.
I do like Paddington bear though. Passed through the station on Friday and there were lots of flowers, cards, and jars of marmalade left at his statue

Without electricity, the fence would be bearly strong enough.

Cowdray ruins, Midhurst, West Sussex.
I'm not sure if the photos I've been posting here will remain showing permanently. They are hosted on Photobucket and news about this service can be read about here:
http://uk.pcmag.com/webcom/90124/news/p ... e-internet (link goes to PCMag UK).
I am paying for an ad-free account and have no problems with images so far. The news is worrying though because it looks like my current payment will not be enough to keep images showing in posts. Apologies if photos are one day replaced by a message from Photobucket.

About 10 years ago I was on a conference call in our sunlounge. I looked up from my laptop and saw this little guy just a few feet away taking a great interest in my activities

This is a photo but one that's been played around with. The original is a macro photo of a section of a computer monitor screen showing a white background. A duplicate was made of this and shrunk down to a very small size. The shrunk copy of the photo was put in the middle of the large photo and the two were blended together in 100 steps using a vector drawing program (Xara Photo & Graphics Designer). It's like sitting 100 photos on top of each other, each one smaller than the one below. The effect is as seen. Not a true photo ..but maybe an interesting effect:

Four more birds,
(Unfortunately, my too-high shutter speed has frozen the props.)
This was taken one Remembrance Sunday at Stow Maries Aerodrome - the most complete surviving WW1 aerodrome in Europe. The weather was good (if somewhat damp underfoot) and there were a good number of visiting light aircraft.
