With friends, including two scientists, we gazed up at the Moon on Monday evening last. Where were standing was open space, view over playing fields, towards the Welsh mountains. The sky was with cloud (tautology: sky is an Old Norse word meaning cloud.) We concluded, based on our collective expertise, the moon didn't look any different. Which it wasn't. After a minute or two of dwelling on a wonder of the world, we went to the pub.
