Germany V England...The Ladies
Well it's about to start and I have never watched women's footie before apart from the World Cup finals. And wouldn't you know it, it's zee Germans again. For the last week I have heard non stop day and night about this match which has been hyped up so much that I truly hope we win but why do I have this horrible nasty feeling that the previous 8 times winners might take us to penalties and we all know what usually happens with the men's games, so wishing the lasses well and go out and stuff em(and apologies to any German lovlies)

Sure I just heard the commentator state England have only beaten them twice in 27 matches. So, at least the weight of history is not on England’s side.

Strange lack of atmosphere. Can’t remember last time I watched a footie match with no singing. Weird. More like Wimbledon! I guess this is probably normal for women’s football?

I have no problem with all female officials. How is women’s football going to develop and progress otherwise? The standard is improving from several years ago but even this final is like watching a men’s National League match.

I know what's the problem. No beer, slagging off each other, we won the war twice songs, smoke bombs, punch ups, 50 foot gob spits, huge smelly farts. Oh so civilized. Need a few strippers to liven this up.

No but something is
Germany's star striker Popp was injured in warm-up
How fit people injure themselves in a warmup always sounds a bit odd to me

Yes, that probably makes a difference but surely the crowd could manage even the simplest “England… England… England” chant that even a Chelsea supporter could manage

That’s better. Get em off. A delightful slow motion boobie action. Book em Danno! Best performance of the match. And what’s with the sports bra! Needs to be banned.

When there was a tough tackle there was no histrionics or rolling about in agony like the millionaire men internationals. They just got up and carried on, refreshing.
Well done England !! from Ecosse.

You need to look harder in that case. The vast majority of our Women's teams matches are officiated by men.
Our stadium's match officials facilities are set up for all men, all women, or a mixed combination.

Oh holy Jesus
Sorry, but you will have to try harder and explain.
You said you hope one day men will officiate at women's matches. I have simply explained this already happens. I am missing your point.

Missed it, would have been the first for me also. But the other half had already booked BBBMB Swan Lake (Big burly bearded men ballerinas). Frankly neither has appeal to me.
With so many gender identities nowadays, surely just best to have a single league/event in which all genders partake, non-discriminatory. 100m sprint and may the best AFAB, Androgynous, AMAB, ... Man, .... Woman, ... Xanith win.

Re: Germany V England...The Ladies
It was not exactly a thrilling game. Too many, far too many, speculative long lobs but maybe that is the way that women's football is played. I have never watched women's game in full before but I liked the obviously well practised time wasting tactics towards the end of extra time.
Anyway, well done England.
