I took an unwanted car to them a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at how slick the organization was. I was even more surprised when I cam across this article:

...it made a pre-tax loss of £140.7m for the year ended April 2, 2023 versus being £34.3m in the black the year before.

WBAC buy cars mainly for feeding into British Car Auctions and a couple of the car supermarkets.

They're only a smallish part of Constellaion Group, but I wonder if the return of used prices to more normal levels has hit their bottom line, especially if they'd overpaid slightly for used stock that they're struggling to shift and maintain margins.
