A spoonful of sugar....
I found this little chap upside down on my window sill. So the emergency bee revival procedures were put into place immediately (basically sugary water on a teaspoon). Within a minute or 2 he was supping away and within 10 minutes, he was off on his merry way.

And what are you going to do for the ants that would have taken the bee apart and carried it back to their nest for food for their starving children, who you've now denied a meal, eh?
Heartless!

Yes, Ted is playing God and interfering with nature and natural evolution.
One should always keep in mind the prime directive of Starfleet Command:
the Prime Directive (also known as "Starfleet General Order 1", and the "non-interference directive") is a guiding principle of Starfleet that prohibits its members from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations.

Why, oh why didn't Captain Picard say that?
Star Trek would have been so much more fun!

Re: A spoonful of sugar....
I fished a drowning (I imagined) bumble bee out of the middle of the Oxford canal a few weeks ago. A (rare) warm sunny day so I just put him on the (warm) roof of my boat to dry out. I watched him crawl about looking warm for a good ten mins or so then it occured to me to take a photo. So I nipped inside the boat to get my phone. When I came out, there he was, gone!
Nor had it occurred to me to offer him some sugar!

Are you sure he didn't?
Picard was on record in court as having broken the Prime Directive nine times in TNGs season four - so I reckon it was more of a theoretical plot device than much else

Re: A spoonful of sugar....
AFAICS Tedx did nothing wrong, first he acted selflessly in the interests of the bee; second, he didn't force the bee to do anything, he just left a tasty treat nearby and the bee helped herself; third, if the ants had had any gumption they would have set upon the bee while she incapacitated, before Tedx had a chance to get there.
Nice pic.

I think the thing that surprised me the most was that I still had sugar in the house!

The article I cited above suggests that the Prime Directive was more of a rhetorical device that reflected the personal opposition to the Vietnam war, and colonialism in general, by the two main creators of the series.
An early form of political correctness, perhaps?
Creation of the Prime Directive is generally credited to Original Series producer Gene L. Coon. Later writers have suggested that the Prime Directive was influenced by the Vietnam War or designed to show a civilization that had evolved beyond colonialism. This would have been consistent with Coon and Roddenberry's political outlooks . .

Probably.
It's hard to argue with folk complaining about TV these days being woke without pointing them at Star Trek
