San Francisco to allow police 'killer robots'

San Francisco's ruling Board of Supervisors has voted to let the city's police use robots that can kill.
"The measure permits police to deploy robots equipped with explosives in extreme circumstances."

Obviously they have decided to upgrade their methods. For too long they have been basing them on 2000 AD issues.
Ps 2000 AD was most famous for the Judge Dredd series.

The more I look back at stuff from that era the more I suspect it's been taken as inspiration rather than satire
I was really saddened to hear of the passing of Kevin O'Neill (at 69) a couple of weeks back - so I'm reworking my way through Nemesis the Warlock in tribute
