Dear all,
As a customer of the above, I am wondering should I cancel my dirct debit now they have ceased trading?
I was only £0.30 in credit and they had just increased my monthly payments. If I let the payment due on the 9/12 go ahead I would be in credit. If not I would owe them. As I think that is better can anyone see any disadvantage in my cancelling the DD?
Reading the notice on Ofgen I will be transfered but to probably a poorer tariff. I will then review and probably move. Sorry to see them go under as I was happy with their service and (too!) keen rates.

Re: GB Energy Direct Debit
Martin Lewis is saying don't cancel the direct debit as it should be transferred to the new supplier. Also don't switch now before the transfer as it may delay the refund of any credit.

Re: GB Energy Direct Debit
Well with all due deference to Martin Lewis I've already cancelled my DD and started off a transfer. I believe that I'm about £30 in credit ATM but that'll have disappeared well before any transfer has gone through and I don't want anyone taking arbitrary payments meantime. I'd rather be in the position of paying bills than waiting for refunds. Since any interim deal is certain to be about the worst available, and prices are rising I don't see any advantage in waiting.

You have the 14 day cooling off period, so you get 14 days to see what Ofgem does and to change your mind.
