Re: SITE OUTAGE 5PM TUE 10TH
Well that did not go too well did it?
I have no idea what the above technical discussion is all about. I tried off and on yesterday and nothing and suddenly around 10 am it is graciously allowing me access.
Back to the Election, rather more important.

Win10/Chrome finally worked this morning, but my android tablet and phone (via my wifi) failed. Finally got them running, not sure how, then my Win10 Chrome. Firefox, Edge. Opera failed with a "not found" message.
Then switched on my SurfEasy VPN (connected to a USA site) and it worked. Currently trying using Opera and its built-in VPN and it works, enabling me to type this message, even though my non-VPN Chrome shows "404 not found"
I assume that using an encrypted VPN means I an not using my normal ISP (BT) DNS, but then why are my android devices working OK, but Win10 is not?
Weird in the extreme

Win10/Chrome now OK, but Win10/Opera+VPN showing "404 not found". It's totally random
Seems to be a timing issue rather than configuration

Re: SITE OUTAGE 5PM TUE 10TH
Still not able to log in via IE inprivate. Getting 404.
Found this by using IE in open mode and searching for Lemon Fool forums December 2019. It then recognises me and I don't need to log in.
I would have expected a redirect from the previous server.
All that said, glad to see it running at all, and appreciative of the effort.

Re: SITE OUTAGE 5PM TUE 10TH
Just as an FYI for those wondering about the DNS thing and what it all means...https://developers.google.com/speed/pub ... docs/using
There's a multi OS explanation there and it also covers IPv4 and 6.
I have everything device wise pointing at Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and I have Googles 8.8.8.8 as a secondary (as a failover). I haven't reversed it or tried other DNS providers as an A/B as everything is working for me (currently...).
My access is via my phone's hotspot, Pixel 3a (Android 10) uses Cloudflare's Warp+ app (shortest node route) and 1.1.1.1.
That is encrypted (TLS) DNS, but not a 'VPN' (it doesn't hide the IP address).
Just throwing it all out there in case it helps anyone, it does seem really random at the moment...

Cleared cookies, but still can't log in.
The last post I made above needed three tries, it previewed OK, but kept getting 404 when I tried to Submit.
Fortunately I always copy my posts before previewing.
If this goes through I'll try Edge as a matter of curiousity.
Edit; Edge no good. I can find it by Googling as above, but get 404 when I try to log in.
And, when I Submit a post via IE, I get 404 but the post actually goes through.

I have not tried to access via anything other than my desktop and can access via IE and Chrome there. It is currently working quite normally for me. I have not tried Edge on my laptop or my ipad.

Sorry for all the issues everyone.
Hopefully the fact you are posting means you are getting through.
The setup of the www Vs none domain want some right and was trying to loop around itself.

No it's still not right on most of my system/browser combinations. The only one that's been reliable is via mobile data (Sky) on my phone.
Most others get a 404 error.
Scott.

Not Found
The URL / was not found on this server.
No amount of flushing the DNS or clearing the browser cache can get it to work more than for a brief moment. The 404 returns shortly, often when trying to post. A Ctrl+F5 can restore the page, but the 404 will still crop up again.
Could it be due to a change from http to https?

The domain record is now pointing at tsohost.co.uk - matching the SOA record.
This morning it was still pointing somewhere else...
But at least we're back.

Re: SITE OUTAGE 5PM TUE 10TH
It's strange - I am at home and I can access the site using Chrome on my work laptop, but if I use Chrome on my own personal laptop then I get a message saying that the requested URL is not found and if I try to use my Android phone, then I get a warning message saying 'Your connection is not private! - Attackers might be trying to steal your information'. There is one difference that I can think of between the two laptops and that is that my work laptop is logged on the the company's network in the Netherlands - but I don't know why that would allow me to access the site when access via my ISP at home here in the UK appears to be blocked.

I don't know if related but earlier today, as well as all the other failures, I got an 'Invalid Certificate' warning. Opted to try site anyway, but at that time went nowhere anyway.
Started to get through on next try, later.
