Movie music has the opportunity to be affecting to an incredible degree:
- I'm not sure I would say that I enjoy it.. but Jane Sibbery performing "it can't rain all the time" from the Crow is a bit special

I still think the original is better (as is often the case IME).

Amen to that.... it's a classic.
And Grace Slick's original version with the Great Society is pretty good (with Grace playing oboe!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LPDCdtjkx0

Woah, thx, hadn't heard that before.
(Then fast forward through Jefferson Starship, to Starship's likes of 'We built this city' - or maybe no thank$ to that.... )

If you liked that, you might also like "Sally go round the roses" from the same album by Grace Slick and the Great Society (recorded live at The Matrix). Typical 1960's psychedelic middle-eastern sound

This song has missed my radar for over 40 years until recently brought to my attention by the excellent Soul Music on BBC R4.
First the original by Tim Buckley

possibly surpassed by this one.

When I first read that I misread it as Jeff
- it's not though... it's going to be his dad on the Monkees and Liz from Grangemouth? (a place I must confess to first seeing at 15 being driven back to the west after playing at Kelty Rock Club and having consumed a bit much of something... Blade Runner tastic!)

Alan Titchmarsh has a Sunday programme called 'Love your weekend', which contains an item where viewers send in their pictures. It's backed by a piece of music which always grabs my attention away from the PC and I had to find out what it was.
It's called 'Roll of Honour' by Oliver Ledbury and can be heard here...

Perhaps others might like it too, I think it's beautiful.

Robin Trower, still going strong after all these years. New single, and rather good I think.

Pink Floyd - Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox) -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpUkET5vBtM
First new material in 28 years, protesting about the Ukraine war.
Obligatory, and of course quite sublime, Gilmour guitar-solo included....

Cheers,

I have never liked AC/DC - however recently someone said look at this clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_GFN3a0yj0
The crowd are unbelievable - not surprising that the group had 'troubles'

One of the most beautiful songs ever.... The Sea, by Fotheringay with the truly wonderful voice of Sandy Denny.
My go-to when I need a bit of calm. Just stick the headphones on and the world just disappears.

The rest of the album is good, but this is special.
