I was also entertained by Truss's revelation that she'd been moved to some serious reflection by the fact that Queen Elizabeth II had died, only two days after formally appointing her as prime minister.
"Why me,why now?", she told the BBC. Gosh, it must have been the hand of God himself. Her Majesty could now shuffle off her mortal coil, secure in the knowledge that the country was now in a safe pair of hands that could be relied upon to take over the reins from her wise and benevolent leadership. For the next seven decades, perhaps.....?
All right, maybe she didn't quite say all of that.
